NBA Draft 2011: Which International Player Will Fare the Best in the NBA?

There are two things international players are good for in the NBA draft; getting overhyped (we are all guilty of it, don't deny it we made Andrea Bargnani a number one pick) and awkward draft day interviews with Sturart Scott.

That doesn't mean, however, that the guys that we have never seen play in America won't be productive in the NBA, it just means that they are more of a gamble.

Of the international prospects, Enes Kanter is the best, and will likely have the most immediate impact and the highest ceiling, but he isn't without peers.

The two most intriguing players in the draft to me are Jan Vesely, who is so athletic that it's almost creepy the way his long limbs float around the court, and Bismack Biyombo, who is as raw as a recently slaughtered cow, but has the size and length to be a game-changer on defense.

Then there are the two big Lithuanians, Jonas Valanciunas and Donatas Motiejunas who both come in the mold of Zydrunas Ilguaskas as seven-footers (or damn near that) who can hoist a mid-range jumper and could be a good post player with some meat added to his frame.

Kanter will almost undoubtedly be the cream of the crop here, with Biyombo either being a bust or turning into a shot-blocking machine much like Dikembe Mutumbo.  The Lithuanians should have decent careers with their ability to stretch the floor and Jan Vesely will either be a complete bust or a pleasant surprise.
