2011 NFL Mock Draft Gives Cardinals Blaine Gabbert With Fifth Overall Pick

One of the best jokes that I heard last year was about the Arizona Cardinals and how much Kurt Warner meant to the team. The basic gist of the joke was that last year solidified Kurt Warner as a Hall of Famer because the team was so bad without him.

It?s harsh criticism of the quarterbacks that tried to fill his shoes, but not entirely unjust. This team needs someone that they can build around, and Blaine Gabbert looks to be the top choice.

Gabbert will be a project, as any young quarterback is, but he has the raw tools to be a very good signal caller for a long time. Consistency with his mechanics is the biggest thing that he will have to work on. He tends to throw off his back foot when throwing a deep-out route.

That said, he is very accurate in the pocket to go along with a strong throwing arm. And when you are throwing to Larry Fitzgerald on the outside, do you really need to have anything else?
