2011 NFL Mock Draft Has Nick Fairley Fall to Tennessee Titans
The day defensive tackle Nick Fairley weighed in below his listed weight at Auburn at the NFL combine, everybody was quick to voice their collective uproar that he indeed wasn't close to 300 pounds. Now that his weight is up to 297 pounds or so, people are quick to point out his character concerns.
The only thing that should bother teams is his character flags, some believing he took plays off at Auburn.
I don't agree with people's assessment of Fairley's character, and you only have to look at his weight to know what I'm talking about.
The fact of the matter is, Fairley was undersized in college, too, and that didn't stop him from being on absolute beast in the run and rushing the passer. You don't dominate against top offensive lineman that have some poundage on you without working extremely hard and learning the nuisances and techniques of the game.
I recently had Fairley at No. 2 to the Denver Broncos, but the only reason I have him falling here now is because I expect the Carolina Panthers to select Cam Newton No. 1 and Marcell Dareus will thus fall to the Broncos at No. 2.
As far as other areas the Titans need to address, they could use a linebacker, but they could nab one later in the draft, and with Newton and Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert off the board at this point, I don't see the Titans addressing their QB situation with Jake Locker at No. 8.
