2011 NFL Mock Draft: Mel Kiper Says Mark Ingram Goes to Dolphins

2011 NFL Mock Draft: Mel Kiper says Mark Ingram goes to Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are always thought about fondly when it comes to their running game.

With Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, they were dangerous, but Brown looks like he won?t be back and the Dolphins need another running back.

Mel Kiper?s Pick: Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Sticking with this angle from the previous mocks, Miami goes with the top back on the board. Ingram didn't drop among evaluators even without a good 40 at the combine, because he was never expected to shine in that area. Ingram is a producer. The most complete back in this class, he has great balance, runs with great pad level, balance and leverage, and explodes from contact. Once he gets through the initial hole, he's a terror on the second level. A good fit here.

Grade: D

This would be a terrible pick for the Dolphins. They have so many need and taking a running back would neglect the other areas of need.

My Pick: Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

One of the biggest areas of need for the Dolphins is on the defensive line.

If Miami takes Aldon Smith at No. 15, it will seem a little high but he could be one of the best players to come out of this draft.
