'American Idol:' Paul McDonald OK With Elimination, Officially Dating Nikki Reed

Many of us were sad to see Paul McDonald, one of the more dynamic contestants this season, go last night, but don't worry about Paul -- he's just fine.

In a conference call with the press this afternoon, Paul expressed his gratitude for making it to the Top 8 in a competition he tried out for on a whim.

"It was kinda one of those things that I fell into," McDonald told the press. "I happened to be in town and it was five minutes down the street and a friend talked me into it. I did it for fun. It had never been my dream to win 'American Idol' or anything like that."
