NFL Draft 2011: Would Tampa Bay Buccaneers Consider Akeem Ayers 20th Overall?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft: Outside linebacker isn't a primary need for Bucs:

Sure, Tampa Bay needs help at outside linebacker. Quincy Black is set to be a free agent as soon as a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is reached and Geno Hayes' future is a bit uncertain thanks to an arrest in December, although it resulted in only court fines.

All that aside, wouldn't it be a bit premature to take an outside linebacker in the first round? Dekoda Watson played well as a rookie. But John Crist of Scout.com is one of few analysts that projects the Bucs taking Akeem Ayers in the first round.

Most mock drafts have the Bucs looking for a defensive end or even a corner in the first round. That makes a bit more since considering the pressing nature of those position needs.

Tampa Bay will surely look into drafting an outside linebacker in 2011 but not until a couple of rounds go by. The third or fourth round would be a more appropriate time to get one.
