In my latest edition of people I’ve posted about before but have just really gotten into despite everyone else shouting their praises in the past, let’s talk about Zola Jesus, aka Nika Roza Danilova. I’m pretty obsessed with her right now, mostly due to my spontaneous purchase of her Stridulum EP on vinyl just as I got my record player several weeks ago. Not realizing the EP was a 45, I played it on 33RPM and wondered when Zola Jesus went all Fever Ray (surprisingly it still sounded good in a demonic sort of way).
