Chicago Cubs Dugout Fight Gets Things Off To A Feisty Start
The Chicago Cubs are in mid-season form?they are already brawling with each other between innings.
The most shocking part about this is not that the Cubs are brawling over a spring training game, but that it is going to be almost impossible to blame this one on Carlos Zambrano. He was not even at the game.
Carlos Silva was, however, and he may be the recipient of a little residual Zambrano.
The incident occured after a disastrous first inning for the Cubs in which Silva allowed two home runs. The inning was extended by three errors on the Cubs.
Silva was not at all pleased, and he carried his anger with him to the dugout. That is where he reportedly got into with third baseman Aramis Ramirez.
You know, because the two jacks Silva allowed were Ramirez's fault. Can someone tell Silva that spring training is to work on things like fielding and pitching?
Silva better focus on cleaning up his own house. This is a pitcher that is prone to long stretches of horrible pitching.
Combine that with the fact that Silva has battled weight issues and he was escorted off the field in a golf cart after the first inning, and you have a Cubs team that better be taking a long look at their young starting pitching.
Here is some more baseball reading to quench your spring fever.
