From an early age was fascinated by music thanks to his father's tapes of the Beatles, Creedence, and others. In the early '90s rock-grunge music and culture conquered him. He bought his first electric guitar and his first amplifier. This choice will cost expensive especially for his neighbors. After a period to play within the four walls, when he was 17 years old he started to sing and play guitar in a band with some friends and classmates, whose repertoire ranges from grunge to italian rock. Unfortunately the band did not ever perform live.

The band changed lineup and this project was interrupted, not without regret, in 2001. The same members of Sandglass changed musical directions and intentions, then the name too. Simone didn't approved those artistic choices and he left the band.
