2011 NFL Draft Order: Breaking Down Carolina and the Rest of the Top Five Picks

The 2011 NFL Draft Order is not entirely set in stone. But the good news is that the top five picks are.

In fact, this is what it will look like.

1. Carolina Panthers

2. Denver Broncos

3. Buffalo Bills

4. Cincinnati Bengals

5. Arizona Cardinals

Unless the Panthers want to take a chance by committing to Jimmy Clausen, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that they will take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

As for the Denver Broncos, their defense needs a complete remodeling job, and it will start with their defensive line. As much as they need a run stuffer, Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers is a can't-miss prospect that they would be fools to pass up.

As for the Bills, they do need a run stuffer more than anything else. Auburn's defensive tackle Nick Fairley would be a good pick, as would Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.

The Bengals have all sorts of holes. If they decide to cut ties with Carson Palmer, they could look to draft a quarterback. But their defensive line could also use help, and they could take whichever defensive tackle the Bills pass up.

As for the Cardinals, they need a quarterback. After Luck, the best prospects are Auburn's Cam Newton, Arkansas' Ryan Mallett, and Washington's Jake Locker. Of the three, Mallett is probably the most NFL-ready, but Newton has the highest ceiling.

We shall see when April rolls around. Until then, check out our latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft.
