Streaking Miami Heat Hold Off Knicks

MIAMI -- The Miami Heat hosted the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, nearly two weeks after their first matchup at Madison Square Garden and, although the end result was the same, the game was much more competitive this time around. Dwyane Wade exploded for 40 points (the most for a Heat player so far this season) and LeBron James just missed another triple-double as both he and Bosh chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. Amar'e Stoudemire led his team with 30 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort.

"We came out to start the game with incredible energy and focus to really set the tone for the game," said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra afterward. "Offensively, they forced us into a game that was a little more stagnant. That's what they do: a lot of switches, a lot of unconventional things defensively. But we got enough plays on both ends down the stretch to pull it out. It was a good win."
