Carmelo Anthony: Carmelo Anthony Talks About Possibly Staying Put in Denver

Carmelo Anthony Says He'd Seriously Consider an Extension with Denver Nuggets if Not Traded.

Denver Nuggets star forward Carmelo Anthony, amid reports that he could be headed anywhere from New York to L.A., reportedly said he'd take "a real hard look" at signing a three-year, $65 million extension with the Nuggets if he isn't traded before the Feb. 24 deadline.

Throughout the season, the popular star has been rumored to be going to the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, and, more recently, the Los Angeles Lakers for Lakers center Andrew Bynum, which has since been reported as unlikely due to Lakers VP of Player Personnel Jim Buss favoring Bynum.

Even Anthony doesn't appear to know where he's going.

When the possibility of going to L.A. was mentioned, he told The Denver Post this:

"I've never heard of that. That was a new one," he said, according to the Denver Post. "It is what it is. Everyday is something different. I guess now is the Lakers."

Don't forget, although Anthony has said he'd like to land in New York, he doesn't seem to mind Denver and he has a good relationship with coach George Karl.

He hasn't been acting up or slacking off with the Nuggets despite constant reports of him going elsewhere.

He's averaging 24.6 points and 7.8 rebounds and just came off a 50-point, 11-rebound performance against the Houston Rockets on Monday.

The Nuggets did lose that game, but they are still 30-22 and hold the seventh spot in the Western Conference.
